All My Children Wear Fur Coats had the unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet with Jan and Diane Pol at the 2022 Global Pet Expo.  We met in the press room and recorded our visit under less-than-ideal conditions.  It didn’t matter to me (and I hope it doesn’t matter to you) because Dr. Pol and Diane and both engaging and interesting people you wouldn’t want to have an opportunity to miss.  I was pleased to have the chance to meet two people who have dedicated so much of their lives to the needs of their clients and their pets.    Read more

All My Children Wear Fur Coats loves to learn about new products! This one, created by Dr. Laura Catena, is the ArmOR Hand Glove®.  Dr. Laura learned the hard way that veterinarians, animal caregivers and pet parents need extra protection when handling pets in stressful situation.   

In January 2009, Dr. Laura was working in emergency medicine.  A kitten bit her on the thumb, which became severely infected and nearly took her life.  She had to have extensive surgery and months of physical therapy.    Read more

Heather Beck created K9 Lifeline® to save the lives of dogs.  In 1995, she moved to Utah and attended a local adoption event.  For Heather, this was a life-changing experience.  She says, unlike some other dog trainers, “I was not raised by wolves,” nor did she grow up with dogs.  However, she loves dogs and has a special empathy for them.  She has been years working with shelters and rescues, fostering hundred of dogs and learning everything she could to make dogs “more adoptable.”  Read more

Phoenix Landing Foundation, founded in 2000, is an all volunteer parrot welfare organization.  The adoption center opened in 2010.  They serve states from Maryland to Northeast Florida.  They have a multi-purpose mission that includes providing educational activities; facilitating adoption for parrots, from parakeets to macaws; helping veterinary students; sponsoring research and conservation for wild parrots; advocating standards of care for birds; building and maintain a sustainable organization; and ensuring that birds adopted through Phoenix Landing are physically and legally protected.  Needless to say, they are very busy.   Read more

 

The International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC) is a mouthful to say but they provide a valuable service to animals.  They promote comfort care to address the physical, psychological, and social needs of animals with chronic and/or life limiting diseases.  They also promote the physical, emotional, and spiritual support for the caregivers of these animals.  Education of professional and advance research in the field of animal hospice and palliative care is also an important part of their mission.    Read more

All My Children Wear Fur Coats was pleased to introduce Erika Gilbert, President of Grune Heidi Farm Rescue, a nonprofit organization whose mission and purpose is to educate the public (not just horse lovers and horse owners) for the purpose of brining awareness of the dangers facing the magnificent breeds of American Saddlebreds and Arabian horses.  The organization is focused on the prevention of abuse, neglect and the protection of American Saddlebreds and Arabian horses from the threat of slaughter.    Read more
